App Camp
App Camp is an idea accelerator for internet and mobile applications. The objective is to turn good ideas for apps into commercially viable products and service for the global market. App Camp is an opportunity for small development teams (2-5 persons), who have programming experience, to develop their ideas into a prototype app. Participating teams will be guided by mentors representing a wide variety of specialities and skillsets from development, design, marketing and intellectual property.
App Campus
The App Camp will take place at various App Campuses. These are collaborative workspaces where participating teams will be hosted. Each App Campus provides the teams with office space, meeting space, internet connectivity and access to a network of mentors who will support them.
App Resort
The first weekend of the App Camp, teams and the majority of volunteer mentors will move to a resort for 2 nights. This way, we encourages the conditions for actual networking and interaction between teams of each App Campus and mentors. We also split the event in half by meeting half way in a central location offiering productive time, opportunity for skills improvement, relaxing moments and a few parties so that teams can return to the App Campuses to complete their projects.
Competition
To make things more enjoyable, teams will compete against eachother. Winning teams will be selected according to a set procedure. Prizes will be awarded on 19 July following the presentations of all apps created during App Camp. We are looking for sponsors for main prizes.
Right of Entry
Teams of at least 2 and at most 5 persons are allowed to enter into the App Camp competition. Entrants will need to submit an application to the organising committee who will select final entrants. At least 2 members of the team will need to be permanently involved with development of the application during the duration of App Camp. The maximum number of participants depends on the availability of space at each App Campus as well as the availability of mentors. Teams that already have an application in the works but has not yet been announced may enter App Camp.
Participation at App Camp, use of space (at App Campuses) and mentoring is provided FREE.
